Anuj’s transition to the role of Global Head of Operational L&D was driven by his passion for Learning & Development and his desire to leverage my background in a broader capacity within ICG Medical. Having first joined the company in 2016 as an L&D professional and later returning in 2020 as Delivery Head, he was eager to continue making an impact. This new role offered a unique opportunity to engage with global teams, tackle new challenges, and develop strategies that align with our company’s mission to improve patient care. His previous roles equipped him with a solid foundation in learning strategies and stakeholder engagement, which has been instrumental in his current position. As Delivery Head, he honed his skills in managing large-scale projects and collaborating with diverse teams. These experiences prepared me to navigate the complexities of global learning needs and develop initiatives that resonate across various regions. The transition has allowed him to expand my expertise, particularly in leading cross-functional teams and tailoring learning programmes to meet the unique demands of each region.
Since stepping into his new role, he’s acquired a deeper understanding of global learning needs, and the strategies required to address them. This has enhanced his ability to create tailored learning initiatives that support our diverse teams worldwide. A significant challenge he faced during the internal transfer was aligning regional learning needs with a unified global strategy. To overcome this, he focused on building strong relationships with regional leaders, listening to their feedback, and incorporating their insights into our training framework. Collaboration and open communication were key to streamlining our approach and ensuring that our strategies remain flexible yet consistent.
“ICG Medical is committed to fostering career growth and supporting internal mobility”, he says and is a commitment he’s experienced firsthand. “The company offers a range of development programmes, from leadership training to mentorship opportunities. Each employee is assigned growth targets and goals, which are regularly reviewed in performance development meetings with their line managers. This structured approach not only encourages personal development but also ensures that everyone is aligned with the company’s broader objectives” he concludes.
For those contemplating an internal transfer, Anuj advises to start by thoroughly researching the new role and department. Be proactive in seeking out development opportunities and be prepared to showcase how you can add value to the new team. This role has underscored the value of fostering a unified culture that respects local nuances while driving toward common objectives.

Additionally, this role challenges him to continuously adapt and innovate, supporting my commitment to ongoing professional development. It also provides a platform to mentor and develop talent, which is central to his vision of building a strong, capable workforce.
